The lunchtime symposium “Simple Processes – Improved Hygiene” focused on how to optimise clinical workflows and thus reduce nosocomial infection rates. A new intervention study of the BODE SCIENCE CENTER conducted at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf shows that hygiene can be made more intuitive and easier.
Some manufacturers increasingly recommend smaller and smaller volumes of hand disinfectants to be applied for hygienic hand disinfection. New findings suggest that some of these recommended volumes do not suffice to ensure complete hand coverage and meet efficacy requirements.
