BSE / Bovine spongiform encephalopathy

Bovine spongiform encephalopathy. The disease, commonly known as mad-cow disease, is similar to the Creutzfeld-Jakob disease (CJD) occurring in humans. Prion-like proteins are considered responsible for triggering BSE.
