Bacteriostasis

Inhibition of bacterial proliferation and growth respectively. Within a certain concentration range, chemical disinfectants inhibit bacterial growth. The measure for an antimicrobial’s inhibitory effect is the MIC value, indicating its minimum inhibitory concentration. Generally, once the chemical disinfectant’s concentration exceeds the MIC, bactericidal activity is achieved.
