Human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8)
(enveloped virus)

These viruses have glycoproteins on their envelope, which are potential targets for external influences.

Human herpesvirus 8, also known as Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV), is an icosahedral capsid (spherical form) with envelope. The virus belongs to the family of Herpesviridae.

The virus is causative agent of Kaposi's sarcoma (tumour primarily linked to AIDS) and is associated with malignant lymphoma (lymph node cancer).

The main transmission path is direct or indirect contact with contaminated persons or objects.
