Glove juice

Glove juice

Moist environment under glove caused by sweating. Glove juice may contain resident microorganisms from deeper skin layers that may pass through possible glove punctures during surgical procedures and enter sterile body cavities of the patient with the risk of triggering surgical site infection. Besides wearing gloves, surgical hand disinfection therefore is an essential part of preoperative infection prevention. Alcohol-based hand disinfectants reduce the risk of surgical site infection by a rapid initial reduction of microorganisms and their sustained effect, measured for a period of 3 hours after disinfection.
